Kyphosis (other names: hunchback, roundback) is an abnormal extra curve of the spine upper part. Normally, the curse is slight and the spine has several natural curves in the neck area as well as upper and lower back.
1. Unlike scoliosis which is a pathological curve sideward, either left or front, kyphosis is directed forwards. Sometimes the two issues are combined and the complicated case is named kyphoscoliosis. The anomaly can be noticed visually as a hunch, rounding or protruding. The atypical curve is the reason for enhanced pressure both to the back and to the lungs. This results in pain.
