Short description. Vertebral (spinal) part of the skeleton supports and stabilizes the upper body, enabling body to twist and turn. The spinal nerves that are responsible for the conduction of the signals from the brain to the body are contained in the vertebrae, while the surrounding tissues and bones are protecting them.
1. When damage occurs, the nerves are affected and problems with sensation and balance occur. Spinal stenosis happens when the column of the spine narrows and it leads to the compressing of the spinal cord. It doesn’t happen at once, this process is a lasting one.
