Ingrown Hairs Causes, Treatment & Complications


Ingrown hair commonly occurs after depilation. Sometimes ingrown hair stays unnoticed and doesn’t bring any serious discomfort. However, often immune system recognizes an ingrown hair as a foreign object and reacts with inflammation.

1. Local inflammation causes formation of papules (small round bumps) and pustules (pus-filled bumps). It can be accompanied with pain, discomfort, itching and hyperpigmentation of inflamed skin area.
